From the INTRODUCTION: Church leaders have often said, "... I know that the counseling session is not the 'magic hour' where the expert solves problems and changes people. I know that I must give people good biblical homework that will hasten their improvement and help them to find their own solutions to problems. But that's my problem. I sometimes don't know what homework to give. Could you recommend a book that gives specific examples and samples of the kind of homework I might give to people with different kinds of problems?" Well, this manual, along with volume 1, is an attempt to provide the "more" which has been requested. Included in this manual are homework assignments designed to help people overcome various marriage and family problems. I have personally used this material with counselees and have seen God use it to help people to discover from His Word how to overcome many serious problems. The homework assignments in this manual, as well as those included in volume 1, have been developed throughout the years I have been involved in counseling. A few of them were given to me by other men (wherever I know the donor, he is acknowledged). One or two may be a combination and adaptation of insights gleaned from various sources that I do not remember. Most of them were developed by me to meet the existing needs of my counselees.
