Harold Raser was commissioned to write the history of Nazarene Theological Seminary (NTS) on the occasion of its 50th Anniversary. In More Preachers and Better Preachers Dr. Raser has caught the spirit of NTS as a place where succeeding generations continue to rediscover the idea of the Church of the Nazarene. in his description of the activities of its graduates, he has discovered the difference this institution has made as, one by one, seminarians have been awakened to their God given potentials and to the power the holiness message, delivered by sanctified and prepared minds and hearts, offer to the expansion of the kingdom of God. Dr Raser describes the careful organization of the seminary and the first strong steps under Persident Hugh C. Benner as NTS found its place in the system of Nazarene higher education for ministry. It is an amazing story of denominational vision, fundraising, collecting of books, discovering resources, and finding a location for the central graduate school for ministry. He has traced the development from humble beginnings to the current strength of NTS as a graduate theological seminary with international influence in the system of ministerial preparation.
